Described as "an astonishing experience, the effect of which only becomes clear when it’s over" (Logo Magazine, UK), the music of composer Kurt Doles has been heard across the United States and in Indonesia, including performances by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Pacific Rim Gamelan, the Greater Portland (Oregon) Flute Society, Fresh Music (Orlando, FL), the 100th Monkey Ensemble, and Gamelan Gong Tunas Mekar (Pengosekan, Bali, Indonesia). A frequent collaborator with electronic musician and composer DAC Crowell, his works can be heard on releases from the Edinburgh-based Suilven Recordings. A new compact disc of compositions for chamber ensembles, recorded by members of the California EAR Unit and other prominent Los Angeles-based performers, is scheduled for future release on the Cold Blue label. He is currently employed in various capacities by the Oregon Festival of American Music.
