Richard Rodgers' career spanned 7 decades, from 1920's Poor Little Rich Girl, his first collaboration with Lorenz Hart, to 1979's I Remember Mama. First with Lorenz Hart (his first partner, from 1919-1943), then with Oscar Hammerstein II (his second partner, from 1943-1955), finally on his own, Rodgers produced many of the greatest songs of the 20th century. His catalog includes of 900 published songs and over 60 Broadway and Hollywood musicals. Shedd Institute executive director James Ralph offers a brief overview of this career.
