Fall Term 2018
Gabe Dickinson
Background, professional training and performance history
Gabe Dickinson is the music director at Cottage Grove High School, where he teaches multiple levels of bands, choirs, and songwriting. His jazz program frequently performs, wins awards, and produces All-State musicians. Gabe has been directing school music programs in and around Eugene for the past eight years, in both middle and high schools, as well as summer camps and private lessons. Before teaching he earned his undergraduate degree in music at the University of Oregon, where he founded and directed three groups: the Yellow Garter Band, the Gospel Choir horns, and The Essentials, a nationally recognized and award-winning soul band. Gabe combines his experience in these different styles to create fun and musically diverse ensembles, often the best part of his students’ day. He earned his Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University.
