Amy Adams’ musical roots go deep into Eugene’s performing arts community, ranging from decades with the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus, the Eugene Opera Chorus and the Eugene Symphony Chorus (for whom she served as chorus manager for many years). A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, Amy has been an area music educator for over thirty years, teaching bands, choirs and elementary/Pre-K music, and is the Director of Music at Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield. Energized by arts promotion, Amy actively supports arts organizations such as OrchestraNext, which she serves as board president. At the Shedd Institute, Amy leads adult singers through formal and informal singing experiences through the Choral Society and Singing Club, teaches private voice and piano lessons and (in a project very dear to her heart) engages adults in cognitive decline through the Shedd’s “Unforgettable” music program in assisted living and memory care centers. A freelance accompanist and self-described “utility singer,” Amy also leads the Shedd’s Sing Along events, free and open to the public during Oregon Festival of American Music.
