"Take a listen to Brooks and John! Their playing weaves magic, surprises the ear, lifts the heart and takes the listener to a better place. I've known these guys for a long time and I have witnessed their maturity as players, arrangers,,, now recording artists. Great work Gentlemen, Bravo!" -- Tommy Emmanuel
Robertson is a fingerstyle guitarist who utilizes his superb technical abilities to play bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously and surpass the borders of conventional genres. He merges hauntingly beautiful compositions, country rhythms and jazzy harmonies with funky licks into his very own art form – sometimes delivered with a punch, sometimes with a smile. Standefer is a world-class fingerstyle guitarist, teacher and publisher of several books. He teaches and performs yearly at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville, where he met Robertson in 2012.The result of that meeting is the exciting new “Brooks & John” guitar duo. The contrast of Brooks' lightening quick licks and John's beautiful, smooth playing is only the beginning of the magic. They have developed some truly great arrangements and a kind of performance synergy that goes beyond what either of them can do individually.
