Kellyn began playing trombone at the age of ten and quickly proclaimed, “All I want to do is play trombone and travel the world.” Over 27 years later, music has taken Kellyn to all seven continents and over one-hundred countries. Now residing in Eugene and pursuing her doctorate in trombone and jazz studies at the University of Oregon, Kellyn is ecstatic to share her passion of music with students. Kellyn received her Master of Music from Yale, Bachelor of Music from the University of Denver, and a diploma in performance from the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy. A versatile musician, Kellyn performs in all styles and doubles regularly on the euphonium, baritone, and tuba. Kellyn has performed in Carnegie Hall with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and performed for such stars as: Natalie Cole, Debbie Reynolds, Alice in Chains, Sutton Foster, Jared Spector, and many more. When not performing music and travelling the world, Kellyn is a black belt in Kajukenbo Kung Fu and teaches martial arts, self-defense, and the healing art of Qigong. As a music instructor, Kellyn has taught private low brass lessons, coached numerous youth orchestras, and held master classes and clinics across the Pacific Northwest.
