Gig Band
Mon/Thu, 4:00 pm - 4:50 pm
Mon, Jan 4 - Thu, Mar 11
Room B09 Class - The Shedd Institute
Playing in a gigging band can be a fun and fulfilling experience. So, what does it take to be in a band? How do you find other musicians to perform with? How do you prepare yourself to do well? Rock. Pop. Country. Blues. Swing. Latin. Ballads. Our faculty know the strategies that can help you perform these musical styles and they can teach them to you. This is a hands-on class where you’ll learn songs while playing together. You’ll learn what it means to be a gigging musician; from working with the members in your band, to getting gigs and wowing your clients. This class is designed for teenagers and young adults who can already play their instrument. This includes guitar, bass, keyboards, drum set, vocals and select other instruments. Learn at least one song and style per week and play often-requested songs like “Brown-Eyed Girl”, “House of the Rising Sun”, “Crazy”, “Stairway to Heaven”, “The Pink Panther” and many more.
