Los Angeles-based composer Nando Duarte is co-founder and producer of Ginga Music, a production company for film, advertising, and sound design with recent works for Taco Bell, HBO, Snapple, and the feature film Fourth Grade (2021).
As a seven-string guitarist, Nando recorded and played live performances with stars like Melody Gardot, the band Empire of the Sun, and many acclaimed Brazilian musicians as Gal Costa, Zélia Duncan and Yamandu Costa. Besides a long record of producing and arranging concerts, recordings and musical theatre, Nando was Musical Director of Elza Soares (named Singer of the Millennium by BBC Radio) before relocating from his hometown Rio to LA.
Nando is recognized for his capacity to lead large ensembles and for his quiet and gentle manner. He scored for award-winning films and TV series and won himself multiple prizes in Brazil as Music Director and for arrangements.
