GRAVEL GERTY
With my high-pitched tonsils
And my low-heeled shoes
And my longhair sweeping up the rug.
I ran into a racy
Dick whose name was Tracy
And I wound up in the jug.
With his snap-brimmed Kelly
And his square-cut jaw
He was quite the handsomest of men.
I started to yen
And the judge gave me ten.
And I'm back in the pen again.
Clang clang clang went the wagon
Crawl crawl crawl went my skin.
Snap snap snap went the bracelets
And that flatfoot invited me in.
He tipped his hat.
I took the seat.
And then I tried my best
To stamp upon his feet.
He took my arm
Gave it a twist
And gently played a serenade
Upon my wrist.
Clang clang clang went the wagon
Har har har went The Brow.
Snap snap snap went the bracelets
As I started to leave
He collected my sleeve
With his hand.
And as if it were planned
With the utmost of grace
Kicked me right in a place
Only Tracy could find.
At the end of the line!
