The Shedd Institute is proud to welcome The Sugar Beets back for another special show. Yes, THOSE Sugar Beets. The same Sugar Beets that get crowds up on their feet dancing, keep theatre audiences riveted with their eclectic catalogue of original songs. From Bluegrass, Celtic and folk traditions, to Motown, gospel, country, or pop, their music journeys from touching to soulful, joyful or hilarious as the band shifts genres.
Did you know that in addition to mandolin and electric guitar Jeremy also plays sitar, koto, zheng sarod and banjo? Have you heard Brian West on congas, djembe or bongos? Have you had the privilege of hearing Halie Loren's beautiful voice in a theatre setting? Have you ever wanted to really hear the lyrics to our songs?
This show is for you! The Jaqua Concert Hall offers a unique environment for showcasing both the rich female vocal stylings of Bassett and Loren and the international acoustic instruments that make The Sugar Beets' studio recordings unique and timeless. This is a rare opportunity to spend an intimate yet playful evening with these Eugene favorites.
Bring the family and enjoy one 90 minute set of acoustic music with us. Afterward, kids can come and talk with the band members and see the instruments up close
As always, children are half price.
