Vocalist Frank Sinatra was a master at choosing timeless songs for his albums and singles. Well before anyone used the term Great American Songbook, he created a repertoire that went a long way to creating that musical canon that stands today. This concert will feature instrumental versions of songs from Sinatra's recordings with Tommy Dorsey ("Without A Song") and Harry James ("All Or Nothing At All") to selections from Frank's own "concept albums" (Come Fly With Me, Songs For Swingin' Lovers, and more). Carl will be sure to include some classics by Sinatra's favored composer, Jimmy Van Heusen.
This concert is eligible for The Shedd's Free Shedd Jazz Student Ticket program, which makes a set of free tickets to 2017-18 Shedd jazz concerts available to students elementary through college (college students must show student ID).
