We are pleased to welcome Gabriela Montero back to the Jaqua Concert Hall for yet another extraordinary evening with one of this generation's most exciting classical pianists.
The program will, as in the past, include Montero's signature improvisations, this time built around her newest CD, Solatino, which will be released by EMI in January. On Solatino, Montero turns her genius for improvisation, as heard on her wildly successful recordings Bach and Beyond and Baroque, to the music of six Latin American composers: Ernesto Lecuona, Antonio Estévez, Alberto Ginastera, Ernesto Nazareth, Teresa Carreño and Moisés Moleiro. This joyous, bright album is packed with tangos, milongas and swinging dance rhythms.
