Founded in 2003 by Irene Sazer, a premier San Francisco violinist-composer-arranger-vocalist and an original member of Turtle Island String Quartet, the ensemble offers a stirring mix of re-vamped classics and genre-hopping originals. RVSQ's spine-tingling vocal and instrumental harmony and fearless, inspired improvisation weave a web of original acoustic music travelling from hypnotic West African songs and Brazilian choros to American string band music and Irish fiddle tunes.
