Grab your lariats and saddle up for a week in the old west as cowboys and cowgirls! Learn cowboy favorites such as “Home on the Range,” “Buffalo Gals,” “Git Along, Little Doggies,” and “Skip to My Lou.” Strum along on the guitar and banjo, and blow some notes on harmonica just like a real cowboy! You’ll learn the histories of these songs, lingo and lore through tales of the Wild, Wild West. Make your own western costume, learn some square dance steps and participate in our version of a cattle drive! Be ready to say “howdy” to the new cowboys and cowgirls in the performance at the end of this week!
Wild, Wild West is the first of 4 summer camps offer by The Shedd Institute as a part of its 2011
Summer SongFest program for kids.
