The Shedd Institute announces the concert schedule for the 16th annual season of it resident jazz & classic American Songbook ensemble, The Emerald City Jazz Kings. The Jazz Kings produce 4 original concerts each year on various themes pertinent to the historic popular music and jazz of the 1920s through ‘50s, with performances in Eugene, Florence and Corvallis. They continue to offer their annual Jazz Kings Christmas, this year at The Shedd in Eugene only.
The 2011-12 Jazz Kings season includes Jukebox Saturday Night (October 13-21), Yule Be Swinging (December 8 & 11). Pick Yourself Up: The Songs of Dorothy Fields, (February 2-10), Here Come The Blondes with guest artistic director Shirley Andress (March 8-19), and On The Road with Jimmy Van Heusen, (May 4-13).
