Rendezvous
Wed, Jul 28, 8:00 - 9:30 pm
Jaqua Concert Hall, The Shedd Institute
As the film industry came of age and matured in the United States (centered, as it was, for the most part, in Hollywood), similar industries, with differential styles and approaches to the use of music, developed throughout the world: Europe, the Far East, India, the Soviet Union.
Rendezvous is one of 7 OFAM 2021 concerts presented twice:
    Matinee: Thu, July 22 - 1:00 pm
Evening: Wed, Jul 28 -8:00 pm
Siri Vik explores these currents in Europe with a touch upon South America, with an eye not only to extraordinary musical moments in films less known in North America, but to songs originating in foreign films that have made their way into the American musical lexicon.
