Background, professional training and performance history
A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, Katherine Wang has been actively dedicated in piano performing, teaching and accompanying with strong passion, discipline and loyalty in music.
Beginning piano playing in her mid-20s she auditioned and was accepted into the UO piano performance program with mostly self-teaching, only two years later. Katherine has performed in solo and collaborative recitals, Chamber Music on Campus concerts, UO composer’s forum, UO choir ensemble concerts, while accompanying music students in UO and LCC with different instruments and levels in their weekly private lessons, studio class performances, juries and auditions. Katherine has also participated in the UO piano pedagogy program, where she was professionally trained to teach both private lessons and group piano classes, select teaching methods and materials for students of different ages, levels and personalities, and adjudicate in competitions. As a collaborative piano/ensemble coach, Katherine has additional training in solo and choral vocal performance, lyric diction, violin, classical ballet, and modern dance, in order to help piano students understand their musical partner better.

Instruments & classes taught
Katherine teaches solo piano, piano accompanying and ensemble, in forms of private lessons, semi-private lessons, and class piano. Katherine teaches students of all ages and levels.
