Jonathan Corona was born in Los Angeles and moved to Bend, Oregon, which is where his passion for the saxophone started. After discovering that his father, Cesar Corona, had played the saxophone as part of a mariachi band back when he lived in Jalisco, Mexico, Jonathan decided to follow in his footsteps and become a professional musician. Starting at age 13, he was a part of many local groups who played in numerous venues around Central Oregon. Jonathan also led his own groups which emphasized the jazz genre, his main musical influence. With hard work, Jonathan pursued his passion of music by furthering his education. After receiving a scholarship to the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, he now resides in Eugene. He obtained his Bachelor's in Jazz Studies 2017 and his Master's in 2019
