The Emerald City Jazz Kings 10th Anniversay Season!
Oct, 2005-May, 2006 - Eugene, Oregon
Steve Stone, Music Director
Join Steve Stone and The Emerald City Jazz Kings for their 10th anniversary season! On deck for the year are 3 great all-new programs of the
historic jazz and popular song exploring (in Steve's inimitable style!) the wonderful alleys and byways of American music. In October we'll
be treated to T'Ain't Watcha Do, It's The Way Howcha Do It!, a tribute to the black dance bands of the 1920s and '30s, with a
special emphasis on the work of Duke Ellington and Jimmie Lunceford. In February, its Days of Wine And Roses, a survey of the fine work
done in the post-rock era by songwriters who got their start in the golden age of the American songbook. Finally, in May, the Jazz Kings
return to the work of two of our favorites: Harry Warren and Hoagy Carmichael. It will be a season to remember!
