The Shedd Institute is pleased to bring its sparkling production of Irving Berlin’s WHITE CHRISTMAS back to Eugene for the 2018 holiday season. This heartwarming 2000 stage adaptation of the beloved, timeless 1954 film musical starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen features 17 Irving Berlin classics and a great libretto of the original screenplay.
Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well-known standards including "Blue Skies", "Let Me Sing And I'm Happy", "Snow", "Let Yourself Go", "How Deep Is the Ocean", "Sisters", "Happy Holiday", "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm" and, of course, that perennial favorite, "White Christmas".
