HOWARD ALDEN began playing classic jazz at age ten in Los Angeles. In 1979 he performed in Atlantic City with Red Norvo. Howard appeared/recorded in New York with Joe Bushkin, Ruby Braff, Joe Williams, Woody Herman, Benny Carter, Flip Phillips, Kenny Davern, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie and George Van Eps. A Concord Records artist, Howard created the soundtrack for Woody Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown. He played the guitar solos and taught the film’s star, Sean Penn, to play the guitar. Howard was recognized as one of Downbeat Magazine’s 75 Greatest Guitarists of all time.
