For the 3rd annual Oregon Festival of American Music, On Airwaves & Silver Screens Artistic Director & Conductor Marin Alsop and her orchestra and guests explore and celebrate the early years of radio and film. Three concerts (which include a unique presentation of Charlie Chaplin's legendary silent film City Lights accompanied by a live performance of Chaplin's own score to the film), a jazz-age dance feauring the music of Red Nichols and his Five Pennies, and a host of talks and presentations. Guest artists include Dick Hyman and Leslie Stifelman.
