Rhythm is the heartbeat of Swing and the drummer is the architect of rhythm. Chuck Redd and his Festival small band unit, including fellow drummer Matt Witek, highlight music played by the prominent drummer/leaders and featured drummers of the Swing Era from 1938-47.
Drum Boogie is one of 6 OFAM 2019 concerts presented twice:
    Evening: Fri, July 26 - 8:00 pm
    Matinee: Thu, Aug 1 - 1:00 pm
The two most popular and important leaders of the era were Chick Webb and Gene Krupa. We'll also feature tributes to percussionists that helped to propel some of the most popular bands from the 30s and 40s, including Jo Jones, Buddy Rich, Sonny Greer, Dave Tough and Shelly Manne.
